My gum teeth suddenly swell how to reduce the swelling
I ate spicy food alot specially onions in the evening then suddenly i feel some pain on my teeth. If your gums are suddenly swollen, here are some steps you can take to help reduce the swelling:
-
Salt Water Rinse: Mix a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and rinse your mouth several times a day. This can help reduce inflammation and kill bacteria.
-
Cold Compress: Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek for 15-20 minutes. This can help reduce swelling and numb any pain.
-
Over-the-Counter Pain Relieef: Consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, to help with discomfort.
-
Good Oral Hygiene: Continue to brush your teeth gently and floss to keep your mouth clean. Avoid irritating the swollen area.
-
Avoid Irritants: Stay away from tobacco, alcohol, and spicy or acidic foods that could aggravate the swelling.
-
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support overall oral health.
-
Consult a Dentiist: If the swelling persists for more than a couple of days, or if you experience severe pain, fever, or difficulty swallowing, it’s important to see a dentist for a professional evaluation.
